ELIAS GARDNER, SENIOR EDITOR
Elias Gardner is an architectural designer in Seattle, Washington. His work is collaborative, gathering diverse voices to explore ideas, develop frameworks, and assemble materials to articulate a shared vision. His active and completed projects are often sited on thresholds of sea, river and rainfall, where he aims to instigate conversations between fixed and fluid. He earned his Master of Architecture (MArch) at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where his research explored the reconfiguration of urban identities through the narrative of water. His proposal for a floating market in Brooklyn, an homage to working waterfronts and maritime economies, was selected for publication in New York and Germany, and helped lead him to the waters of Seattle. Prior to arriving in Washington State, he pursued architecture and design in San Francisco and Rome, springing from a versatile liberal arts background at Williams College in Massachusetts.
Writing and verbalizing thoughts are acts of design. Elias brings his design experience to In-maginative, helping clients synthesize content, develop robust workflows, and position a clear argument within a narrative whole. He has a willingness to listen and adapt to learning styles, and holds a strong admiration for those who seek out an education. His own writings often accompany explorations of designs and experiences, opening new ways of understanding the spaces and people that surround him.
